Aquatic Fitness / Pool Training (for those with access to a pool)
I specialize in Aquatics, and have been teaching classes for over 25 years, as well as being Arthritis Foundation certified. I provide various aquatic strength tools including aquatic drag dumbbells, resistance ankle cuffs, and noodles.
An Aquatic Fitness workout is great for both individual personal training, and is also a perfect way to have fun, socialize and work out with friends doing semi-private training!
Shallow Water Strength/Cardio Workout
This fun and invigorating aquatic workout combines full body strengthening using resistance tools (aquatic dumbbells, noodles, etc.), along with cardio interval training to help improve overall fitness levels and cardio capacity, while also increasing core strength and flexibility
Also great work for balance and coordination
Deep Water Aquatic Workout
Working suspended in deep water using floatation devices such as buoyancy belts and pool noodles, helps create a minimal, to no impact workout
The resistance of the water along with the resistance tools helps build strength, stamina, and increases cardio capacity
A great way to exercise for those with foot or ankle issues, as well as those with neuropathy who cannot tolerate impact workouts
Please note: Participants will need to provide their own buoyancy belt. Other equipment is provided.
Gentle Aquatic Workout
These aquatic exercises are based on the approved Arthritis Foundation format designed to work on flexibility, range of motion, balance, joint mobility, stability, and coordination
No resistance tools are used, but rather the 3-dimensional resistance of the water is used to help improve strength in the muscles and connective tissues around the joints
Working in the water provides a low impact environment, while the hydrostatic pressure of the water helps reduce inflammation, as well as many other benefits
Provides a complete, gentle overall workout, and is not just for those with Arthritis
It is a great way to get stronger to prepare for surgery, post-surgical rehab, for those just getting back into exercising, or those with a limited capacity for strenuous exercise
